A terminal for the
agentic age

Termtastic is a terminal replacement suitable for the modern age of agentic software development. Tabs, panes, a built-in tmux-like server, and first-class awareness of the AI agents you run.

macOS · Web · iOS · Android — one server, every device
01

Tabs, panes & layouts

Independent tabs, each with a flexible grid of panes. Drag to resize or rearrange, maximize on the fly, and mirror a single session into a linked view across tabs.

  • 20+ layout presets — Grid, Hero, Columns, T/L-shape
  • drag to resize & move, snap to a 5% grid
  • mirror one session into multiple panes

Sessions that never die

A built-in, tmux-like multiplexing server keeps your sessions alive even if the UI crashes or restarts. Full scrollback is replayed back to you on reconnect — no work lost.

  • server survives crashes & restarts
  • 64 KB ring-buffer scrollback per session
  • restore [session restored — previous process ended]

It watches your agents

Termtastic reads the screen of Claude Code, Codex and Gemini CLIs and tells you their state at a glance — a red glow when an agent is waiting on you, a blue glow while it's working.

  • waiting for your input or approval
  • actively working & generating
  • ping notifications when an agent finishes

Claude usage, in the status bar

Keep an eye on your Claude Code budget without leaving the terminal. Session, weekly and Sonnet-specific usage sit in the bottom bar with reset times and color-coded limits.

  • live session / week / Sonnet percentages
  • resets shown inline with each metric
  • green → yellow → red as you near the cap

A file browser, built in experimental

Open a file-explorer pane right beside your shell. Tree view, glob filtering, syntax-highlighted previews and rendered markdown — no context-switch to a separate app.

  • tree lazy-loaded, auto-refreshing
  • glob filter with * and ?
  • preview syntax highlighting & markdown render

Git diffs & worktrees experimental

Review changes in an inline or side-by-side diff viewer — even a P4Merge-style graphical view with connector lines. Spin up new branches and worktrees straight from the pane, auto-stash and all.

  • diff inline · split · graphical views
  • worktree create branches without leaving the pane
  • stash migrate dirty changes automatically

Make it yours

A full theme editor with live preview lets you tune every surface — terminal, sidebar, tabs, chrome and panes — independently. Light and dark slots, favorites, and per-pane font sizing.

  • editor live preview as you tweak
  • scope per-section color overrides
  • fonts independent size per pane type

One server, every device experimental

The native macOS app, a full web client, and Android & iOS apps all connect to the same session-multiplexing server. Start work at your desk, glance at it from your phone.

  • native macOS app with a global hotkey
  • web full client on localhost or remote
  • mobile iOS & Android apps — observe & type on the go

Live Demo

The full Termtastic web client, running right here in your browser against a simulated session server. Type in the terminals, drag panes around, switch layouts, open the git diff and the file browser — nothing to install, and nothing leaves the page.

Tip: click into a shell pane and run help. Tabs, pane drag & resize, layout presets and the theme manager all work — commands are simulated, and the demo resets on reload.

All clients connect to the same tmux-like session server, so your work is waiting for you wherever you reconnect. Remote connections are plain HTTP and require explicit per-device authorization.
